Milestone

First License Agreement

The UBL Cell signed its first non-exclusive licence agreement with Thanuki Products, Nuwara Eliya Road, Balumgala, Boragas — for commercialising the UWU innovation "Gluten-free Finger Food for Toddlers".

The IP transfer was officially held on 10th November 2021 at the Vice Chancellor's office. The product is a cereal-based biscuit for toddlers over 1 year — gluten-free, rich in protein and dietary fibre.

20-year agreement with quarterly royalty payments to the University. Patent No: LK/P/2096.
